Parish Nurse Program at Milette Manor
The Parish Nurse Program at Milette Manor is looking for special volunteers to staff an exciting new ministry. The Edward V. Karg Day Away Program will provide a safe, loving and stimulating environment for those suffering from early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. A full day of activities will be planned and facilitated by staff. Volunteers are needed for 3-4 hours a week (or month) to provide an Alzheimer’s participant with one-on-one care and supervision. Training will be provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to give an Alzheimer patient’s caregiver a well deserved day of respite. For additional information, please contact Kathleen Rice Orshak, Manger of Volunteer Services, St. Joseph Hospital (595-3144).
