Minutes Nashua Area Interfaith Council
January 5, 2005
The meeting was at the home of Latha Mangipudi, Board member and a member of Chinmaya Mission. Latha opened our meeting with prayer.
Faith Communities present at today's meeting were: Good Shepherd, Main Street Methodist Church, Bahai, First Baptist Church, Church of Jesus Christ Day Saints, First Church, First Baptist Church of Hudson, Christ the King Lutheran, Souhegan Homes and Health Hospice, St. Joseph Hospital, Community Church of Hudson, First Church of Christ Science, Emmaus Institute, Nashua Presbyterian and Chinmaya Mission.
Dr. William Manseau moderated the meeting. After break Latha shared information about her faith community and explained the faith journey of her tradition. Following her presentation Rev. Tom Woodward shared his thoughts on faith journeys relating it to our human development and interaction with our sacred writings.
The Business Meeting:
Minutes were distributed from the December meeting via the website. They were approved.
Bill Doll presented the Treasurer's report. The end of the year balance is $892.28. A copy of the report is attached to the Secretary's minutes.
Audrey Doll moved and the membership voted to spend $250 for Tsunami relief, with the money to be sent to the Chinmaya Mission for final distribution.
Correspondence included a thank you note from Margarita's Place for the gloves and hats collected at our Holiday gathering in December.
Written announcements included a program to be presented at the First Baptist Church of Nashua on Feb. 18 by Dr. Meg Hess of the Emmaus Institute. It is titled "Your Congregation as a System." Registration can be arranged by calling 886-3760. A second announcement was in the form of the schedule of the Church Women United of the Nashua. A copy of this schedule can be obtained by calling Bobbie Knickerbocker at 579-0603.
Oral announcements included a meeting of the Granite State Organizing Committee on January 10, ht the Universalist Unitarian Church at 7 pm. This meeting will include time with Deborah Pignelli, a new member of the Governor's Council. The second announcement was to inform the membership of the training for volunteers for the Nashua Greater Interfaith Hospital Network also on January 10, at Christ the King Lutheran Church. The training will occur between 6 PM and 9 PM. For more information contact Laurie Skibba at 897-7338.

Our next Meeting is on February 2 at the Hudson Community Church, located at 19 Central Street in Hudson. The meeting begins at 7:30 AM.
