Nashua Area Interfaith Council
Minutes September 8, 2004
The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. Jim Harrington, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hudson.
Faith Communities in attendance included: Arlington Street Methodist Church, Main Street Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Nashua, Nashua Presbyterian Church, Christian Scientist, Bahai, Nashua Presbyterian, Litchfield Community, Pilgrim Congregational, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua Soup Kitchen, and the Emmaus Institute. Guests included Chuck Hotchkiss of the Granite State Organizing Project and Stephanie Rutt of the Souhegan Interfaith Council.
Announcements included:
Treasurer's report was distributed. We currently have $1,870.99 on band. We will have some expenses with the Crop Walk.
PROGRAM: Panel presentation on the question: "What Role Does Jesus Play in our Faith Communities?" Panel members were Executive Board members present. They were Bill Doll, Bill Manseau, Sharon Spivik, Franklin Haskill and Tom Woodward. The topic raised good discussion and audience interaction.
There was no Old Business. New Business concerned the item of refreshments for the "To Hear How Others Pray" program.
We adjourned around 9 a.m. with prayer from Rev. Jim Harrington.
The October meeting is October 6 at 7:30 a.m. at Main Street Methodist Church. Parking is best at the parking garages on the west side of Main Street.
