Nashua Area Interfaith Council Minutes
December 8, 2004
The meeting opened at 7:40 am with greetings from Sister Carol, and a reading of prayers for Advent and Hanukkah.
Faith Communities attending this meeting were: Congregation Betenu, Community Church of Hudson, Latter Day Saints, St. Joseph Hospital, Christian Science, First Baptist, Nashua, Arlington Street Methodist, Chinmaya Mission, Litchfield Community, Universal Unitarian, Nashua Presbyterian, Christ the King Lutheran, First Church, St. Philip, Emmaus Institute, and Temple Beth Abraham.
After an excellent breakfast buffet President Sharon Spivak presented information of a variety of holidays that occur at this time of year. Sharon specifically introduced us to Hanukkah, and Dr. William Manseau read a passage from Luke. Some seasonal singing followed.
The Executive Board recommended that a gift to the Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network be made from funds contributed at the annual Thanksgiving service. With an addition of funds from our account the amount given was $500.
Members brought hats, gloves, and scarves that will be donated to Marguerite's Place.
Rev. Martha Spear of the Litchfield Community Church indicated that she will be leaving the church, and will not longer be a part of the Council due to her move to Massachusetts.
The next meeting is January 5, 2005 at the Chinmaya Mission, Latha Maugipudi (891-1239).
The meeting adjourned at 9 am.
